According to French media, from December 8, members and officials of the French government will not be able to use any messenger that has not been approved by the National Agency for Information Systems Security. These messenger applications include Telegram, WhatsApp and Signal. The use of which will be banned.

This is being done out of fear of leaking essential and confidential information. French government members have been instructed to use France’s Olvid messaging app for communications. The Olvid application is end-to-end encrypted, which keeps digital communications safe.
