Armenia and Azerbaijan are moving towards peace after a long conflict. The Turkish Foreign Minister says that the two countries are very close to a peace agreement.
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed a few days ago to exchange prisoners of war and work toward signing a peace treaty in what the European Union hailed as a major step toward peace in the long-troubled region.
The two countries had a dispute over Nagorno-Karabakh. This area was controlled by Armenia, but according to the United Nations, it belonged to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has acquired Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia after a long war. Now, the interactions between the two countries seem that very soon they will agree on a peace treaty and peace will be established in the region. .
