The Prime Minister of Palestine Muhammad shtayyeh demanded to impose sanctions on Israel for violence against Palestinians. According to him, Israel has failed to abide by international law and UN resolutions and the US is helping him in that regard.
Speaking at the Doha Forum, the Prime Minister called the complete blockade of electricity, water and food supplies to Palestine a war crime and demanded that sanctions be imposed on Israel.
He said
If Israel is above international law, I think Israel should be put on sanctions. Israel should not be allowed to continue violating international humanitarian law, international law [and] the United Nations resolutions … For the United States to block a United Nations Security [Council] resolution, one should hold the Americans responsible [for supporting Israel’s violence] in Gaza and in the West Bank”
