Now the Community of Latin America and the Caribbean Community has convinced Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Guyana’s President Irfan Ali to meet. The meeting will take place on Thursday at St Vincent.

There is severe tension between Argentina and Guyana at the moment. The military of both countries is on high alert. This is because Venezuela claims a large area of ​​Guyana. The area claimed by Argentina is Rich in oil and other minerals. In the past days, Argentina had announced the acquisition of that area, after which there was a threat of war between the two South American countries.

Now the presidents of both countries will meet for negotiations. At the request of the presidents of Venezuela and Guyana, the president of Brazil, Lula de Silva, has also been invited to participate in this meeting.
