Finland’s ambassador was summoned by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Russia has serious concerns over the recent defense agreements between Finland and the US. Therefore, the Finnish ambassador was summoned.
The ambassador was told that Moscow would not leave NATO’s military buildup on the border without a response.
Under the defense agreements between the US and Finland, Finland will hand over some of its territory to the US military.
Russia sees this as an escalation. Russian President Putin feels that Russia is being surrounded from all sides. Finland’s ambassador has been informed of Russian concerns.
