A shooting incident has taken place in charles university in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, in which 10 people have been killed and 30 injured as of the latest updates.
Czech police said that it was responding to a school shooting at Prague’s Jan Palach Square, before reporting that it had “eliminated” the shooter.
Police said in a tweet soon after the incident
“The entire building is currently being evacuated and there are several dead and tens of injured at the site.”
In the afternoon, Charles University students and staff received emails asking them to barricade themselves for their safety.
students said: “We barricaded ourselves on the 2nd floor, the shooting probably took place on the 4th,”
According to the mayor of Prague, the shooter committed suicide. He said, “The shooter jumped somewhere and died, this is a good outcome from the point of view of the tragedy, but we must analyze all this and then inform the public.”
