The Russian Ministry of Education says it is launching a project to promote the Russian language in BRICS countries.

Moscow, along with China and other countries, has eliminated the dollar’s privileged position in global trade, and now it wants to do the same to the English.
BRICS is seen as a future rival power to the US and EU.

A Russian professor says: “Promotion of cultural traditions, including the Russian language, is part of economic development. When people receive cultural benefits of another country, another civilization, they become interested in this country, its structure, including economic – its goods and services. Russian language in this sense differs in a positive way from the majority of others because of a huge layer of our culture.”

Russia plans its own satellite internet.
