North Korea test-fired a new solid-fuel engine missile, a high-thrust intermediate-range ballistic missile.

According to the North Korean state-run news agency KCNA, North Korea has tested a solid-fuel IRBM missile, which is of great strategic importance. This test will provide a sure guarantee to accelerate a new intermediate-range missile system.

The objectives of the test were to develop the engine characteristics of a new missile system.
According to media reports, this experiment has been successful.
