Malaysia has banned all Israeli ships from entering its territory.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said: “We have banned all Israeli-flagged ships from entering our territorial waters and Israeli-bound ships from docking in our ports. This action is a concrete response to Israel’s crimes against the people of Gaza in defiance of all human values.”
Malaysia remains passionately pro-Palestinian and has not yet recognized Israel. In a parliamentary speech made in November, Anwar said that the government would maintain ties with Hamas. Now in a new statement, PM Ibrahim has said that no Israeli ship can enter Malaysian territory.
