Japan suspended all Osprey aircraft flights on Thursday. This suspension came into effect after the American Osprey aircraft crashed. Last Wednesday, the American Osprey V-22 military aircraft crashed in the sea of Japan.
The Osprey military aircraft is a hybrid aircraft. It takes off and lands like a helicopter but cruises like a plane. The Osprey V-22 has a pretty good record of crashes since its inception.The aircraft crashed 4 times during test flights from 1991 to 2000, killing a total of 30 people. Since becoming operational in 2007, 12 aircraft have crashed.
The plane that crashed in Japan on Wednesday had 8 crew members, all of whom are still missing. In addition to grounding all of its Osprey aircraft, Japan has requested the US military to stop all Osprey aircraft operations in Japan.
China condemns Japan.Japan is interfering in China’s internal affairs.
