The Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant had prepared Prime Minister Netanyahu for the attack on Lebanon and according to Plan, the attack was to take place on October 11.
Yoav Gallant had been an IDF general and was quite enthusiastic about the war. He wanted to a pre-emptive attack on Lebanon on 11-October, to destroy whatever they could of Hizbullah in order to foil an imminent ground invasion by the Ridwan forces of the Galilee.
However, the US president personally contacted the Israeli prime minister and forced him to step aside and don’t do this mistake.
Netanyahu and Gallant debated for 6 hours, then decided to call it off, despite Gallant’s insistence.
Although Nathan Yahoo has rejected these reports, but since the early days of the war, sources were giving news of differences between Nathan Yahoo and the Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
