Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan says he will take Pakistan’s former army chief General Bajwa and the US embassy to court on charges of allegations to overthrow his government.

Imran Khan is currently in jail due to various cases. All his cases are being heard in the jail instead of in the court. In today’s hearing, the jail administration has permitted the journalists to come to the jail and listen to the trial. However, foreign journalists were not allowed to enter.

In 2021, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan had to leave office due to the success of a no-confidence motion in Parliament. His coalition parties and some members of his own party deserted him.

Before the no-confidence motion, the Pakistani ambassador to the US, Asad Majeed, had sent a cipher. According to the cipher, the US government official had said that if Pakistan did not remove Imran Khan from the Prime Ministership, relations between the US and Pakistan would deteriorate.

After the fall of the government, Imran Khan used to publicly criticize the army chief of Pakistan Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and the US in rallies. He accused the US and the army chief Bajwa many times of plotting to topple his government.

Imran Khan while talking to the journalists in jail said that he will take the American Embassy and the former Pakistan Army Chief to Court. He expressed his wish that foreign journalists should also be allowed to come here. Imran Khan think that foreign journalists will be able to report unbiased and without any pressure. because he feels that Pakistani journalists cannot tell the whole truth due to strict censorship and pressure.
