France successfully test-fired a new version of its M51 nuclear missile, the M51.3. The M51 series of missiles are intended for maritime defense and can carry many nuclear warheads.
Work on this new version (M51.3) started in 2014 and its regular production started in 2019. Another missile of this series (M51.4) has also started in 2022.
The test fire of M51.3 strategic ballistic missile took place under the supervision of the Director General of Armament of France. During the test fire, the missile traveled a long distance and fell into the North Atlantic.
