France is to close its embassy in Niger.
After the anti-France rebellion in Niger, local people and institutions have had a bad relationship with France. After that, France has announced the closure of its diplomatic mission in Niger.
This decision coincides with France’s plan to withdraw its last military forces from Niger’s Sahel region this month.
A businessman from Niger says: “Since childhood, I’ve been opposed to France. They’ve exploited all the riches of my country such as uranium, petrol and gold. The poorest Nigeriens are unable to eat three times a day because of France.”
