China is close to building its own Starlink-style satellite internet.
For this purpose, it launched a test satellite for satellite internet technologies from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest.
The satellite was launched by a Long March-2C carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
It is the 4th Chinese launch this year which has been carrying satellites described as testing satellite internet technologies.
Russia plans its own satellite internet.
