After the capture of some northeastern regions by non-state armed groups in Myanmar, the situation there is rapidly deteriorating. These armed groups include the Arakan Army, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army, collectively calling themselves the Three Brotherhood Alliance. Now, one of these groups has initiated attacks in the border areas of Rakhine, a western state of Myanmar.

Rakhine gained international prominence in the past when millions of people were displaced due to the military’s operations, with 750,000 seeking refuge in the neighboring country of Bangladesh. The Myanmar military indiscriminately targeted armed groups during the crackdown, resulting in numerous civilian casualties and the destruction of villages. However, the armed organizations have not been eliminated so far
