Two of the foreign visits the Russian leader may make this year are to African countries: Burundi and Equatorial Guinea.

In addition to the countries previously listed, Vladimir Putin has also been invited to Iran, Iraq, Cuba, North Korea, Mongolia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam, among others.

The Kremlin has yet to respond to the invitations, particularly due to the upcoming expiration of the presidential term in May. However, there are no plans to visit unfriendly countries.

There are several international summits and forums coming up that heads of state will attend. The most significant one is the G20 summit in Brazil in November. It’s not yet clear if Putin will be there. Another important summit is the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Peru.
