The Supreme Court has agreed to review a controversial decision made by Colorado’s top court. The decision found former President Donald Trump ineligible for the presidency. This would have left him off the state’s primary ballot. The Supreme Court’s involvement in this high-stakes legal battle could have significant consequences for the 2024 presidential election.

The court has established a quick timeline for submissions from the parties involved in the appeal initiated by Trump. The court has also announced that the arguments related to the appeal will be heard on February 8th. Since Super Tuesday, which is scheduled for March 5th and during which Colorado and more than a dozen other states will hold their primaries or caucuses, is approaching, a decision could be made soon after the arguments.
