After Russia’s attack on Ukraine, both countries were involved in a war. Ukraine targeted this bridge several times during the conflict. On October 8, 2022, an explosion occurred on the bridge, causing a part of it to collapse, halting the movement of vehicles. Russia quickly repaired and reopened it for traffic.
