South Africa plans to generate 2500 megawatts of electricity from nuclear energy. South Africa has only one nuclear power station. Now they will add more.By 2032, the first nuclear energy generator will be operational.

South Africa is facing a power crisis. The Ministry of Energy has expressed happiness over the preparations for the installation of new nuclear power plants, saying that it will solve the problem of power outage.

the country’s Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa told a news conference: “We are excited about the prospects, and we are confident about our ability to ensure that within a reasonable period of time we are able [to announce] preferred bidders.”

According to Ramokgopa, the extra 2,500MW of nuclear power is a significant milestone.
