Sierra Leone police have begun investigating former Sierra Leone president Ernest Bai Koroma over last month’s failed coup attempt.

Last month, a law and order situation erupted in Sierra Leone’s capital and the president immediately imposed a nationwide curfew. Investigations revealed that some armed men were trying to topple the government. Many people were killed in the exchange of fire between the security agencies and the armed men.

The Sierra Leone police are investigating the case and have questioned the former president four times on charges of plotting to overthrow the government.
Police suspect the former president, his former bodyguard and his daughter of involvement in a plot to topple the government.

In addition to this, the police has issued a list of 54 people who are wanted, possibly involved in the conspiracy to overthrow the government.
