In Iran, the supply of petrol and diesel has been severely affected in some provinces of the country, including the capital Tehran.

Petroleum Minister Javad Owji has told state TV on Monday that the supply of about 70% of the country’s petrol pumps has been affected. Iranian Gas Station Association Spokesman Reza Nawaz said that the problem of supply of petrol and diesel is across the country and it is due to some technical glitch.

Services at petrol pumps have been suspended in large parts of the country, including the capital Tehran, since Monday morning. Iran’s state TV has blamed a hacking group linked to Israel for the cyber attack.

According to Israeli and Iranian media, the Predatory sparrow group is responsible for the attack.

“This cyberattack was carried out in a controlled manner to avoid potential damage to emergency services,” Predatory Sparrow said in its statement.
