Germany will deploy its military in Lithuania on the border with Russia.

According to Reuters, Germany will deploy 4.8 thousand military in Lithuania on the border with Russia.

The agreement was signed by the defence ministers of both countries. The main units will be transferred in 2025-2026, and the brigade will be fully combat-ready by 2027.

The head of the German defence ministry, Pistorius, compared the move to the deployment of troops in West Germany during the Cold War with the USSR.
