Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley has said that slave-owning nations owed the Caribbean nation $4.1 trillion in reparations.

Barbados is an Eastern Caribbean country. It has an area of 439 km² and a population of 267,800. Barbados was a British colony until 1966 and gained independence on November 30, 1966.

Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley says “We’re not expecting that the reparatory damages will be paid in a year, or two, or five because the extraction of wealth and the damages took place over centuries. But we are demanding that we be seen and that we are heard.”
